  Daily Star (Brooklyn, NY), 18 August 1893: "A Soldier's Burial. John Mann, formerly a member of Barbara Frieschle Post, No. 11, G.A.R., died on Sunday last after a long illness, and his funeral occurred on Tuesday afternoon from his residence, 297 Kingsland avenue. Rev. John J. Arnaud (who is the chaplain of George C. Strong Post, G.A.R.) conducted religious services and made a feeling address. The deceased was a member of the One Hundred and Fifty-Second Regiment, New York Volunteers, and served three years in defending his country's flag and honor. He leaves a widow and six children."
