Notes - "...Lewis Gordon, of Patchogue, recently tried a new mode of fishing from the beach. He constructed a large kite, to which he attached a duplicate string, on which were several baited fish hooks. When fully rigged he set the kite sailing, and in a short time caught a sixteen pound cod fish and another of a lighter weight."
